DOMESTIC
TAXES DEPARTMENT
The
Commissioner Domestic tax is responsible to plan, manage and
coordinate registration, audit, assessment, collection and
account for taxes due and administered by the Domestic Taxes
Department. The Commissioner is assisted by 5 Assistant Commissioners.
• The Assistant Commissioner Tax Audit is responsible
to develop auditing systems, plan and co-ordinate their implementation
in line with the relevant tax laws, government policy and
departmental guidelines.
• The Assistant Commissioner Large Tax Payers is responsible
to plan, review and coordinate the implementation of domestic
tax programmes for Large Taxpayers, in line with the relevant
tax laws, and departmental guidelines.
• The Assistant Commissioner Field Delivery is responsible
to plan, review and coordinate the implementation of domestic
tax programmes for small and medium taxpayers/outstations,
in line with the relevant tax laws, government policy and
departmental guidelines.
• The Assistant Commissioner Returns & Payment Processing
is responsible to make plans for collection of revenue that
ensure that all taxpayers file returns and pay on time, monitor
execution of those plans and report on revenue performance
in line with the relevant tax laws and departmental guidelines.
• The Assistant Commissioner Arrears and Objections
Management is responsible to evaluate and manage the arrears
recovery process to ensure timely recovery of arrears and
to resolve all objections and appeals in line with the relevant
tax laws, government policy and departmental guidelines.
